Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Classic Card / Classic Card A

The "Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Classic Card" is a card made for foreigners in Japan.
From usual shopping to travel, you can use it on a wide range.

Characteristics

The first year is free of fees

The discount on the yearly fees is only for those who are signing up for a new card. It cannot be used if it is for a change of service.

There are a lot of ways and varieties for using and making the payments

You can use it in Japan, while on a trip overseas, and while shopping online. You will also be able to use the e-money (denshi money) "iD" which makes shopping easier and more convenient. Furthermore, you will have various payment methods to choose from.

Casualty insurance for overseas travel (maximum of ¥20,000,000)

If an accident occurs during overseas travels, we offer a casualty insurance. There is the precondition of using the card in advance for the travelling expenses to be eligible. (Support will be made by the insurance company/ Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, Limited )

Classic Card A with Overseas/Domestic travel casualty insurance (Maximum of ¥25,000,000)

If you have an accident during overseas or domestic travels, we offer a casualty insurance. In case of injury causing death, your successor will receive compensation. The compensation will depend of if beforehand, the card have been used for travel expenses. (Support will be made by the insurance company/ Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, Limited )

With shopping compensation (maximum of ¥1,000,000)

If the purchased goods made via the credit card are damaged or stolen, you can receive a compensation within the 90 days of the purchase.

  • There are cases where the goods or damage are not covered.
  • It is only intended for revolving repayment/payment by installment (up to 3 times) made overseas or inside the country.

About payment

About support for card's day of payment / late payment

If the payment is due on the 26th of each month, the deadline for the amount usable on the card (cut off day) will be at the end of the month. The amount due for that period will be decided around the 10th of the following month and you will receive a mail to inform you about the amount. On the 26th of that month, the amount will be deducted from the bank account specified (if the 26th falls on a weekend or a holiday, it will be done the following business day).

ex. If the card is used on April 20th The cut off day will be April 30th. The payment amount will be decided around May 10th. The amount will be deducted on May 26th (if the 26th falls on a weekend or a holiday).

※If the payment date is chosen to be the 10th, the deadline for the amount usable on the card (cut off day) will be on the 15th of each month. Around the 25th of the same month, the amount due will be decided, and it will be deducted from the bank account specified (if the 10th falls on a weekend or a holiday, it will be done on the following business day).

If we do not receive a payment

If we do not receive a payment on the fixed day, this information will be recorded on Japan’s personal credit information agency.

If the payment is late

In case the payment cannot be deducted from your account, a letter will be sent to your address.
