【Questionnaire Results】Announcing survey results for credit cards that are easily issued to foreigners, reasons for those who could not receive a credit card, etc.!

YOLO JAPAN Co. Ltd. conducted a survey about credit cards targeted towards foreigners living in Japan.
*Survey period: May 27, 2019~June 26, 2019 Number of respondents: 590 people from 68 countries

Of those who were surveyed, 65% answered that they had a credit card. Out of the 65%, about 90% answered that they had a credit card issued to them in Japan.

In addition, Mitsui Sumitomo was the number 1 choice among those who were issued a credit card due to "Hearing from others that foreigners could easily make a card" and for its "Free or inexpensive annual fees." Also, Rakuten was chosen for the ease of being able to "Collect points and miles." Other rankings are as follows:

1st: Mitsui Sumitomo
2nd: Rakuten
3rd: Amazon

■Credit card issuer ranking according to foreigners who chose a credit card due to its "Free or inexpensive annual fees."

■Credit card issuer ranking according to the ease of 'Collecting points and miles'.
1st: Rakuten

Furthermore, out of those who answered that they do not have a credit card, nearly 60% gave the reason of language difficulties and nearly 30% said that they had difficulty when filling out the application form. This shows that foreigners require further support when applying for a credit card

Ranking of the difficulties when applying for a credit card:
1st: Language difficulties
2nd: Difficulty in filling out the application form
3rd: Not having a personal seal / bank account

Based on these results, YOLO JAPAN intends to continue to expand its services in order to provide better support for foreigners living in Japan.
